My name is Winter Vinecki and I’m 10-years old. I’ve been competing in triathlons since I was 5. On May 3rd, 2009- My dad’s 40th birthday- my dad, Michael, was diagnosed with a very serious form of cancer that attacked his prostate. He fought a hard 10 months, but he passed away on March 12th, 2009, less than a year later.
I have decided to fight back so that other families won’t have to go through what ours has. I am joining in the fight against prostate cancer by creating Team Winter as part of Athletes for a Cure in honor of my dad. My original goal was to raise $10,000, but we’ve already raised over $100,000 and we’re just getting started. I hope you will join our Team.
Team Winter’s mission: to get as many blue ribbons out there as pink ones.
